Challenges

Canam-Bridges Canada’s design department has been using AutoCAD 2D for over 30 years. The engineering department was no longer supplying on demand, and design became the company’s bottleneck.

Solution

Improving the efficiency of the engineering department through the integration of SolidWorks 3D and the abolition of old 2D working methods to introduce new design methods and techniques.

Vitrerie LC

Challenges

The aim of the project was to obtain a contract to manufacture a tempered glass ice cube. The client had no internal resources available to carry out the project.

Use of our design team.

Realization

• Creation of designs for the manufacture of a glass cube.

Drawing methods were different for each designer and engineer, making teamwork difficult.

Solution

Standardization and automation of tasks with CUSTOMTOOLS.

Realization

• Facilitated workshops to reach consensus on drawing numbering.
• Production of drawings suitable for subcontracting and approval, and standardization of techniques and information.
• Creation of a common component library.
• Ensure drawing stability.
• Documentation of new processes and user training.

Challenges

The client did not have the expertise to design his new product.

Solution

Use of SolidWorks to design a spout to facilitate the application of silicone between the structural glasses and proof of concept using prototypes.

Challenges

The drafting department was using AutoCAD, and the company was having difficulty recruiting new resources, as graduating students preferred to work with 3D drawing software.

Solution

Integration of SolidWorks 3D and CUSTOMTOOLS to automate operations and improve the search for reference drawings.

• Implementation of new 3D drawing methods and techniques.
• Automation of data import and export with their ERP software, Prextra.
• Facilitation of workshops and user training.
